Battling Etiquette
There have been various cheats and glitches that fans have found out.
For example, scamming pokemon. The two for one Pokemon rule is now old,
But in the old days people would trade one good pokemon for 2 not so good pokes.
They'd trade a dummy first and the person with the good pokemon switches off after this,
Getting a free Pokemon for nothing. Sadly, this is still around.
In order to play fair and everything, fans have made their own rules or Clauses.
Below are some of the common clauses:
Standard Clause
This consists of the 4 most common clauses.
Sleep, Uber, Species and Evasion.
Sleep Clause is if you have a Pokemon that knows a
Move that makes the opposing Pokemon fall asleep. When you battle under this clause,
You are only allowed to make one of the opposing team members asleep.
Uber Clause is quite simple. The following pokemon are not allowed in your team if Uber Clause is on:
-Arceus
-Darkrai
-Deoxys Attack
-Deoxys Defense
-Deoxys Speed
-Dialga
-Garchomp
-Giratina
-Giratina Origin Forme
-Groudon
-Ho-oh
-Kyogre
-Latios
-Lugia
-Manaphy
-Mew
-Mewtwo
-Palkia
-Rayquaza
-Shaymin Sky Forme
-Wobuffet
-Wynaut
Note: Wobbufet is on because it is very powerful.
Just look at it's movepool. 'Nuff Said. ;D
Species Clause is also easy to understand.
No two pokemon of the same species may be on the same team.
You can however have a evolution and a pre evolution.
Evasion Clause.
This means your Pokemon are not allowed to use the moves Minimize or Doubleteam.
Both these moves once set up are annoying. Very Annoying.
Other Clauses.
There are more!
Item Clause: Only one different item for every poke.
Legend Clause: No legends at all.
OHKO Clause: This means One hit knock out moves are not allowed.
Luck item clause or Hax: No lucky items, like Quick Claw.
Okay, now we're done with the Clauses,
lets move on to the tiers.
Each Pokemon has been given a tier by fans.
This is based on movesets,
Stats, and ability. Below are the tiers.
Uber: Mostly legends. Very strong and above normal base stats.
OU: Overused. These come second, and are commonly used on Wifi.
Borderline: These are average stats, average moves.
Underused: As the name says, Not very good in battling.
NU: Neverused. These pokemon are sometimes used though.
Now, Considering that, this is what the title is: Battling Etiquette.
So, below are some things that you should know to help you be nice and happy.
Do not Disconnect. This may make people think you are a newb. Sometimes you have a bad Wifi Connection though.
If voice chat is on, don't cuss. Because.. They'll probably own you even more.
Follow the rules. If they say Standard Clause, Dont use ubers. =P
Lastly, Dont hack. Using a AR for rare candies is a-ok, But getting a happiny with dark void and 999 stats is not.
Thanks for reading.
